Rebuild 3: Gangs of Deadville

Available: iOS, Android, and PC (not free; a game where you have to buy it, but no IAPs - currently NZ$7.99 on Android (probably about US$5)

Brought to you by: Octavia Blue

Rebuild 3 is a strategy game set after the zombie apocalypse. Think Civilization meets The Walking Dead.

Shortly before I started playing World Zombination, I found and played through Rebuild mobile on iOS (basically Rebuild 2). I really liked it and played it through several times to get all the endings.

Rebuild 3 is a bigger, better, and slightly more complex game. It won't be your WZ replacement as it is a single player game (so no guilds etc), but if you like strategy games, it is worth getting. (I have the PC version, which I got as part of a Humble Bundle. I am pretty sure I got the Rebuild 2 mobile version on a half-price sale at some point, so keep your eyes open for a sale).

Lead a motley crew of survivors to rebuild a community

What do I like best about it?
The units, narrative/storyline and humour, and the game mechanics. It's a good solid strategy game.

Are there any similaraties to WZ?
While the gameplay is different, and it is a single-player game, there are some similarities to WZ. The first is, of course, zombies. Sadly you can't *be* zombies, but there are zombies everywhere plus a faction of zombies you can become allies with during the game.
The Rotten are a group of Zombies you can ally with - or annihilate

The other big similarity is the individuality each unit has. Units can be trained in different disciplines - as soldiers, scavengers, builders, leaders, or engineers. You can also equip them with an item and/or a weapon and choose perks for them as the level up. (The ability to give units perks is uncovered through research - another similarity to WZ). You can even rename units after your friends!

You too can make a nerdy Cavy if you wish.

Vital Stats:
Guilds: No
Chat: No
Zombies:  Bucketloads

Description from Developers:

It's been a few years since the zombpocalypse turned the world's cities into graveyards and sent the few survivors into hiding. Now you must gather them up and restore civilization to a ruined city, one building at a time.

Rebuild 3 is a strategy sim game with a good helping of narrative and dark humor. It's a thoughtful game that'll make you fond of your survivors before you send them to their deaths for the greater good. As you expand your fort to new buildings, you'll decide between farms or fortifications, housing or hospitals, and make tough decisions to fend off raiders, illness, starvation, and madness. And the dead are still out there wandering the streets, hungrier than ever.

This sequel to the "unputdownable" Rebuild Mobile (aka Rebuild 2) is much MUCH bigger. Just check out these features:

Stream Legends

Available on: as an extension on Twitch channels from here  (More about how to play soon) Brought to you by: Gordon Stream Legends is from Proletariat (yes, really this time !), the developers of World Zombination. Stream Legends is a mini-RPG that can be played while watching a twitch channel. Channel viewers can fight monsters, collect loot and level up their characters and viewers can work together to build a town for the channel. Stream Legends requires the channel owner to install the Stream Legends extension. Some quick questions with Gordon: What do you like best about Stream Legends? My favorite thing about playing StreamLegends is just being able to scratch that progression and character development itch while I’m at work…haha. Also that it can be played even when a broadcaster isn’t online—there was a big channel grinding away yesterday even when the broadcaster hadn’t been streaming for 10+ hours. As a dev, I really like how there are super unique guilds (...

Princess Fairy Rush

Available:  iOS and Android Brought to you by K Estes (aka Crunchy Crotch, Goose, and DeathGrips) The latest offering from Proletariat, Princess Fairy Rush is an innovative blend of both the Princess and Fairy genres. With real-time PvP, immersive game-play, and a compelling narrative, Princess Fairy Rush will be your go-to game. Some quick questions with K Estes What do you like best about this game? When I first saw Princess Fairy Rush,  I was skeptical. For one thing, I wasn't sure I fit the demographic of players they were aiming for - which appeared to be pre-teen girls. However, as it was a Proletariat game, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and I gave it a go. I can confidently say any gender and age can enjoy Princess Fairy Rush, without any compromises to their masculinity. I, in fact, am even more manly after playing it. My voice became noticeably lower and a post gaming session audit revealed 6 new chest hairs. Are there any similarities with WZ? The...

You collect characters and level them up. There are three types of campaigns as well as PvP. Gameplay is simple. Quick questions with Beaker: What do you like best about KOF'98 UM OL? It's relatively new; they're constantly updating it and adding new characters and weekly events, There is always something to do.I haven't spent any money on the game but I have plenty of Gems (premium currency) so I can definitely say it isn't P2W. Oh and I love KoF! Are there any similarities to World Zombination? The chat system is similar to WZ's one. Clubs (Guilds) can have up to 50 members. Whenever you clear a campaign level with 3 stars, you can raid it and that's basically QFing it. Gameplay is simple to master How do I find friendly WZ people to play with? There's a ton of se...
